Guest curator, Michel Allen, director of the Allen Gallery in Chelsea, selected twelve artists from among the 39 who entered. She reviewed 474 pieces (a record) in record time. "It was a lot of fun," she said, "I especially enjoyed picking the top five." The artists represented for April 2008 are: Roger Cummiskey*, Donna Cleary, Donelli J. DiMaria, Charmaine Frost*, Guenter Knop, Lucinda Luvaas, Jen Mazza*, Jacqui Morgan, Emily Rich*, Jennie Rosenbaum, Chanit Roston, and Suhas Tavkar*. Five artists, indicated by asterisks (*), are nominated for the Curators Choice Awards.
