The Power of Personality -- Guest curator, Sherry Camhy, is an artist, author and teacher. Her work is in the permanent collection of several museums and has been featured in art magazines as well as museum and gallery shows. Ms. Camhy was curator for "The Silverpoint Exhibition" (National Arts Club 2014). Her book, Art of the Pencil was published by Watson-Guptill, and Ms. Camhy is now the author of the Drawing Magazine column, "Material World." In addition to teaching at the Art Students League and several colleges, Ms. Camhy teaches in her studio in West Chelsea and also runs workshops, with two coming up: silverpoint in May (New York) and painting in July (France).

Ms. Camhy selected three Curators' Choice nominees for February, in a calendar notable for the sheer power of its figures. The Curators' Choice nominees appear as starred dates in the list. Ms. Camhy starts the month with the monumental oil Betty by Jean Marcellino of New York, NY. The two other nominees are: 11* Survivor Daron (an unusually dark and masterful color pencil) by Peter Millward of Stamford, CT; 20* David with Tatts and Chakra Scarf (a painterly acrylic conveying an attractive benevolence) by Paul Rybarczyk of Buffalo, NY.

Artworks making their calendar debut: 10. One artist is making a calendar debut, Tom Darrah of La Luz, NM.

Eight artworks are being retired, having now appeared in three calendars: Betty by Jean Marcellino of New York, NY; "What's Going On Here" by Pacifico Palumbo of Colrain, MA; Folded Woman by David Schulz of Middletown, CT; Orange Blossoms by Terry Hinkle of St. Louis, MO; David with Tatts and Chakra Scarf by Paul Rybarczyk of Buffalo, NY; Silver Belle by Chanit Roston of New York, NY; Marysol II by Victoria Coyle of South Wales, United Kingdom; Ruby by Seonyoung Kim of Woodside, NY.

Art for this calendar comes from 12 states, Canada, Russian Federation, Denmark and United Kingdom.

Each of the artists selected for the calendar receives two (2) complimentary listings for each artwork included in this calendar. Three artists, indicated by asterisks (*), are nominated for the Curators Choice Awards. Curators’ Choice nominees receive 8 additional complimentary listings. The top artist receives an additional prize. Viewers can vote for “My Favorite N*de,” a poll which includes all of the art in the calendar. The top three artworks in My Favorite N*de win one (1) complementary listing for their artists. Winners announced March 1st.
