Presenting Bare with Flare -- For 14 years, guest curator, Margot Luftig, was Executive Director of the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit in New York city. She has been a member of the Salmagundi Club since 1995. Before her association with the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit, Ms. Luftig had a career in fashion merchandising. She is a graduate of NYU.
Founded in 1871, the Salmagundi Club is one of the oldest art organizations in the United States. Housed in an historic brownstone mansion in Greenwich Village, New York City, the Club offers programs including art classes, exhibitions, painting demonstrations, and art auctions throughout the year for members and the general public.
Ms. Luftig selected three Curators' Choice nominees for September, (starred dates in the list): 1* Balance (sculpture|wood) by Larry Scaturro of Brooklyn, NY; 9* The Dancers (acrylic) by Darlene Kuhne of Arvada, CO; 18* Bath #3 (oil) by Donelli J. DiMaria of Santa Fe, NM.
Artworks making their calendar debut: 18. DiMaria of Santa Fe, NM; Recline by Darlene Kuhne of Arvada, CO; The Dancers by Darlene Kuhne of Arvada, CO; Seek not, my soul, the life of the immortals by Dan Simoneau, ISAP of Kenosha, WI; Reflections 2 by Neal Smithwillow of San Miguel de Allende, MEXICO.
Art for this calendar comes from 11 states, Mexico and Russian Federation.

Each of the artists selected for the calendar receives two (2) complimentary listings
for each of their artworks selected.
Three artists, indicated by asterisks (
*), are nominated for the
Curators Choice Awards. Curators’ Choice nominees receive 8 additional complimentary listings. All the Barebrush curators have an opportunity to view and judge the art. The top artist receives an additional prize. Winners announced October 1st.
