Title: Dionysos
Desc: I worked on this painting fairly steadily between 2010 and 20013, and to keep myself company posted a blog about the experience. A god presiding over wine, ecstasy and death -- indeed a god of the processes of life, in some ways older than the Olympians -- can hardly be captured in a painting, but nevertheless reflects many of my preoccupations.
